Schrattenfluh (Schrattenfluh) is a mountain in the Swiss Alps. It is located in the Upper Emmental in the canton of Lucerne. It consists of several peaks, the highest of which is Hengst ((6,864 ft)2,092 m).

The Karst caves and a very large underground network
The schrattenfluh has a cave more than 50 km long. These caves are not allowed to the general public nor can the general public enter this group and this group has several branches. Speleologists have found many interesting fossils and bones of vertebrates in these numerous caves. This cave is inhabited by a large number of bats. Who have been living in this cave for ages. As bats prefer cool environment, it is a perfect place for them. When some people went there for research in this cave with permission from the government. Then they discovered a small insect. The year was 1969. This insect has only schrattenfluh. The size of this type is very small (2 mm).

Schrattenfluh features unique rock formations formed over thousands of years of erosion. Large and tall limestone bars are deeply grooved. Surrounded by gray mountains and shimmering silver, crevasses and craters, it is a very attractive hiking destination.
High trails from Hengst to Schibengütsch can be enjoyed a lot. Entering the Hengste at the highest point of the Schrättenfluh, the Hirseg descends into the valley below to the Stecheleg and the Alp Schlund.
The descent from Schibengütsch goes via Chlus to Alp Schlund and thence to Hirsegg.
